William Gallas is a former France international who had spells with Marseille, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur during his career.

In October 2017, Gallas represented France alongside Christian Karembeu during a demonstration of teqball at SPORTELMonaco.

They played against Portugal's Luis Figo and Simão Sabrosa.

Earlier that same year, Gallas and Nigeria’s Nwankwo Kanu were among those in attendance on the finals evening at the inaugural Teqball World Cup in Budapest, where the pair participated in a gala indoor football game.

"If we had a teqball table in our time, I believe we could have developed our skills to a higher level and achieved even more success," Gallas said.

Luís Figo is a retired Portuguese midfielder who played for Sporting CP, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan before retiring in May 2009.

He won the Ballon d'Or in 2000 and was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2001.

"It is a new and exciting sport," Figo, who played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid and was capped 127 times for Portugal, said of teqball.

"In our generation we did not have the chance to have the quality of these tables.

"We used to have to use makeshift pitches in dressing rooms, but now teqball exists.

"I think it can be used not only in the dressing room but you can do it in the park and around schools and I think it will stay in the market.

"I am happy to try the sport and help its development."

Robert Pires played for French clubs Metz and Marseille prior to his time with Arsenal, where he won two FA Cups and two Premier League titles.

His second Premier League title came in the 2003-2004, when Arsenal went unbeaten throughout the season. 

A former France international, Pires earned 79 caps between 1996 and 2004 for his country and won the FIFA World Cup in 1998 and UEFA European Championship in 2000.

The 45-year-old was among the special guests at the 2018 Teqball World Cup in Reims in France and he is hoping to promote the sport so much that it one day earns a place on the Olympic programme.

Carles Puyol played his entire career for Barcelona, predominantly as a central defender.

He was Barcelona's captain from August 2004 until his retirement in 2014 and won six La Liga trophies and three UEFA Champions League titles.

Puyol amassed 100 caps for Spain and was part of the squads that triumphed at the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and FIFA World Cup in 2010.

Nuno Gomes is a former Portuguese professional international who played as a forward.

He spent most of his career with Benfica and represented Portugal in two FIFA World Cups and three UEFA European Championships.

Simão Sabrosa is a former Portuguese international who played mainly as a left winger.

Having played in Portugal for two of the three biggest teams in the nation, Benfica and Sporting CP, he also spent several years of his career in Spain, notably with Atlético Madrid. 

He won the 2004–2005 national championship with Benfica and the 2010 UEFA Europa League with Atlético Madrid, among other accolades.

Christian Karembeu is a former French international footballer and the current sporting director of Greek club Olympiacos.

Karembeu played for several clubs during his career, including Sampdoria, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Olympiacos.

He won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid in 1998 and 2000, starting in the final of the former edition but remaining on the bench for the latter.

He joined Manchester City, however, at the start of the 2002-2003 campaign prior to spells at numerous other clubs, including Fenerbache and Chelsea.

While with Chelsea, Anelka won the Premier League and FA Cup double in 2009-2010 and an FA Cup the season before.

Jari Litmanen is a former Finland captain and is widely considered to be his country's greatest football player of all time.

During his club career, Litmanen most notably represented Ajax, Barcelona and Liverpool.

His time at Ajax saw him win the UEFA Champions League in 1995, which marked the peak year of his career, and five Dutch league titles.

Gianfranco Zola is a former Italian international who played predominantly as a forward. 

He spent the first decade of his playing career in Italy, most notably with Napoli, alongside Diego Maradona, where he was able to win the Serie A title, and at Parma, where he won the Italian Super Cup and the UEFA Cup. 

Zola later moved to English side Chelsea, where he won two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup among other honours.

In 2003, he was voted Chelsea's greatest player ever.

Henk ten Cate is a Dutch football manager and former professional player.

In the 2005-2006 season, he was assistant to Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona when the team won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles. 

He then served as manager of Ajax until October 2007 and won three trophies for the Dutch club.

Speaking about teqball, Ten Cate says: "It's like training without knowing you are training."

Marco Materazzi is a former Italian international, playing as a defender.

Early in his career, Materazzi played with various Italian teams in Serie B and Serie C, and with Everton in the English Premier League. 

He spent two periods with Perugia, from 1995 to 1998 and from 1999 to 2001, and signed for Inter Milan in 2001. 

At club level, he won a number of major honors with Inter, including five Serie A league titles in a row from 2006 to 2010, one UEFA Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup, four Coppa Italia titles, and four Supercoppa Italiana crowns.

Materazzi was part of Italy's FIFA World Cup-winning team in 2006, scoring in the first-half of the match that finished 1-1 after extra time and then successfully converting his penalty in the shootout as the Azzurri triumphed 5-3. 

Erwin Koeman is an ex-Dutch international.

His younger brother is Ronald, whom he played alongside for The Netherlands.

Ronald Koeman is a former Dutch international who has been manager of The Netherlands' national team since 2018.

During his career with The Netherlands, Koeman won the 1988 UEFA European Championship and played at the 1990 and 1994 FIFA World Cups, captaining the team at the latter.

He won the Dutch Eredivise with Ajax in the 1984-1985 season before joining the club's rivals PSV Eindhoven, where he won three consecutive league titles and the European Cup in 1988. 

In 1989, Koeman transferred to Barcelona and helped the club win La Liga four years in a row between 1991 and 1994, and the European Cup, where he scored the winning goal of the final against Sampdoria in 1992.

Speaking about teqball, Koeman says it is "not football's rival but rather its complement".

"Teqball enhances players' confidence, perfects their passing techniques and develops decision-making skills, not to mention the so-called 'first touch' moves that are more than essential in modern-day football," he adds.

Ossie Ardiles is a former Argentina international who won the 1978 FIFA World Cup.

Ardiles spent much of his club career in England with Tottenham Hotspur, signing in 1978 and leaving 10 years later.

He won the FA Cup in 1981 and the UEFA Cup in 1984.

Carlos Alberto Torres is a former Brazilian international and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders of all time. 

He captained his country to victory at the 1970 FIFA World Cup, scoring in the final with what is considered one of the greatest goals in the history of the tournament.

Ronaldinho is a Brazilian football icon who in his peak was regarded as one of the world’s best players.

The attacking midfielder won the FIFA World Cup in 2002 with Brazil and also won the Copa America and Confederations Cup with his national side.

At the Beijing 2008 Olympics he won a bronze medal and he represented some of the biggest clubs in the world during his career, including Flamengo, Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona and Milan.

He won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in 2006 and will now take part in a series of worldwide teqball events, to raise its profile and encourage more people to take up the sport.

“I’ve been playing teqball for a long time, I love the technical aspect of it and how it helps to improve your football skills,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to working with teqball to help grow interest in the sport and hope it’s soon included in the Olympics because then I might have the chance to become an Olympic champion.”
